Great stay at the Baan Siloam once again. Stayed here 16 months ago and said I would return. The hotel is great for a break in Bangkok centrally located in Silom near to lumpini park and the night market lots of great restaurants around. Hotel is spotless and quiet. Lovely polite staff.

An ordinary hotel in terms of facilities but what makes this place special is the good stuffs. This might be considered an unrated hotel, but personally i would give this two thumbs up. Wonder why? Here's a list why i consider this place special. Good stuffs: 1. very good location (5 mins away from BTS Chong Nonsi, 7 mins away from BTS Sala Daeng, main highway 3mins away, taxis/grab available for pickup/drop-off) 2. 711 convenience (1 min away) 3. food and drink trips within the block/street (street food, decent eating restaurants, thai milk tea/soothies, food park) 4. friendly and accommodating staff 5. overflowing coffee, tea, free fruits for the day 6. spacious facade where you could relax and chill during early morning and late afternoon 7. parking space (can accommodate 3-4 cars) 8. price is right (what you get what you pay) 9. elevator, cctvs, microwave ovens every floor 10. decent basic room with an antique interior accent (very traditional yet clean) there is really no bad stuff about this place. Maybe lets just say, what needs to be done to improve the overall service and quality of the hotel. lacks: 1. free breakfast option 2. free shuttle to the nearest BTS/MRT station 3. welcome drinks 4. staff who can understand and speak enough english 5. unused/used bedsheets or mattresses should be placed in a room where it is not visible to the visitor anywhere even in the stairs and near lobby. I don't mind the cons, i quite expected it. So overall, it was a very nice stay. I definitely recommend and go back to this place. TIP: choose a room situated at the rear side of the hotel if you want a peaceful sleep. Right outside the hotel, is street and sometimes could be busy and noisy especially during holidays.

Anyone who knows Bangkok well will understand that this balance of a clean and large rooms, friendly and efficient service, great location and great price is hard to beat. Yes, it's small, has no bar or restaurant, but everything you need is right around the corner. Over the years I stayed in about 20 hotels in Bangkok, ranging from 2 to 5 stars. If you are out and about all day and need a good and clean room to put your head down without breaking the bank; this is your place.

Close to Sala Daeng Bts..10-15 minutes walk. Baan Silom is a no frills hotel...clean big rooms and toilets. Near wet market that opens on weekdays, plenty food stalls around. Used uber to travel around (4pax) overall much cheaper than taking bts/metro.

I stayed here for 9 days and I honestly have to say that this place is amazing. I checked in late 10/21/2017 it was pouring down rain when I arrived and I was starving. The nice Asian guy night clerk was so friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember his name. He was working every night the 9 nights I stayed there. The house keeper and the lady during the day were also very helpful. My room was cleaned everyday without question and was cleaned immaculately. The bedding was comfortable and the a/c worked great. I stayed in room 304 in the front above the lobby and it was slightly noisy early in the morning but I was there to see Thailand and not sleep. It was not bothersome to me. I only mention it for those that like to sleep in can know to get room in back not the front. I was there with friends and they were accommodating to put us all on same floor. Some of the amenities I enjoyed was the nice patio out front of the hotel and the koi pond in front as well. They had snacks, coffee tea and water available 24 hours a day. The rooms come with a nice refrigerator. They always had 2 brand new bottles of water in room at all time in refrigerator. There is a microwave between the 1st and 2nd floor for anyone to use. They do have an elevator and the stairs are easy to use as well. They do have outlets that support all types of electrical devices. I use a cpap at night and did not need a electronic converter, my american plug worked in the wall. I recommend this place mainly because of location it is near mass transit, near patong night market and easy walk to most things. I only paid $26 a night on Hotels.com and i checked often to see if rates went down since they price match. For the amount of money I paid I am really impressed with this place.
